Carmen Marquez - Director of Catlink. Puts in 25 hours a day 7 1/2 days a week. She grooms dogs during the day and puts her super-cat-mom outfit on the rest of the time. She always whines that this is not what she meant when she said, "Here let me do that."  When everything seems insurmountable she's heard whispering under her breath, "Well it matters to this cat. We CAN fix it, one cat at a time."  She seems happiest when she’s hanging with the cats and her grooming clients.  All proceeds from pet grooming goes to cover the cost of care for the cats.

John Marquez and his friend Rambler the cat are always working together to provide a safe, healthy environment for the cats. His only break from working with cats is when he goes to work every day with Bonneville Power. He is Rambler's biggest fan. For a dog person he's pretty whipped by these feline fur balls.

Jack and Lisa work at many of our adoption events. We'd like to congratulate them on their recent marriage. Since Jack has taken on such a large role representing the cats outside the shelter itself we miss his always happy smile and enthusiasm. Whenever there is a project to be done, we count on both to pitch in and they always do.

or "Scoops" has been a fixture at the shelter for many years and has seen her share of joys and sorrows. She contributes not only by cleaning and socializing but also by fostering many litters of kittens, seeing them to good health and new forever homes.  And if that is not enough, she is a great source of comic relief when the tasks seem overwhelming.

No doubt that photos help sell our adoptable cats. Thanks to Jason`s talents, many cats
have found their forever homes!  You can see his work in the many photos on this site and on our adoptable cat listing on Petfinder.  Jason also generously helps out with shelter facility projects when we need an extra hand!

If it needs to be done, Marcia does it: compiling spay/neuter statistics, preparing spay packs, painting the shelter, getting the newsletter printed, washing kennels, trapping cats and updating the web site.   This is in addition to her day job as a quality management consultant, spending time with her grand daughter Maria, enjoying recreational opportunities and taking care of a houseful of cats with her partner, Jason.

When Jerri wanted to lend her talents to helping Catlink, there was no hesitation about asking her to edit a long-planned newsletter.  We think that you will agree that our EMews newsletter is first class and we feel very fortunate to have her help us get the word out about Catlink.  When not promoting the cats, she tends to her own menagerie of dogs, goats, cats, chickens and whatever other critters come her way, as well as working as a technical writer.

Like many of the Catlink Volunteers, Jessica first got hooked on Catlink after she adopted her kitty, Clare.   Jessica and her husband moved to the Gorge to enjoy the the outdoor life.  She supports her cat and play habit as a CPA specializing in municipal accounting.  A great background to help with adoption events, fund raising and grant writing. And should we mention that she is champion cat box cleaner?

Betty would rather trap feral cats for spay/neuter then most anything else with the exception of spending time with her grandchildren, Morgana and Brandon.  Betty is always willing to stop and talk to people about their pets and about the stray cat problem in the Gorge.

Mary or "Social Goober" as she calls herself. We would choose to call her loving and most important. If you don't believe me, ask the many cats and kittens who have flourished as she coaxes the shy, nurtures the little ones, and buddies up to the whole population. Thanks to her, many cats get the time they deserve after such a tough start in life.

Kathy doesn't appear to be on energy drinks but she works like the Energizer Bunny. More gets done if we slow pokes just stay our of her way -- though she never complains when we don't.  We are happy and privileged to have her as part of the Catlink team.

Sandy and George are our premier recovery/foster parents. They go beyond the call of duty of just looking after the little ones. They give compassion, understanding, and time -- not to mention endless trips to the veterinarians. This wonderful couple have what is required to nurture and support many of our more challenging and needy sick or injured.  And yes, that is a racoon, not a cat, that Sandy is holding!

No one has more genius for placing adoptable cats as Jen. She also nurtures and ministers to sick and orphaned cats until they can be adopted, and her office has become a foster haven for cats and kittens on their way to forever homes.  Jen spends a lot of time ensuring the cats in her community are helped through Catlink's trap-neuter-return program, as well as promoting education on the importance of spaying and neutering pets.
